Don't read too into this.

I haven't written a blog post for yearsssss on this thing.  So, I decided to do just that.  I mean, it's just super short, super sweet, but maybe one day I will tell the world more about me and Austin, and about my life, and all those things.  Eh.  We will see.

I'm a Robot

Lately I have been feeling a little nostalgic and reflective on my life.  It really is too bad when I am cleaning my room and trying to get rid of stuff, but it has been fun.

When I was little, quite frankly it is still true, I had the hardest time keeping a clean room.  Rachel and I shared a room and we would do ridiculous things to try to keep it clean.  Once we wrote out an agreement and then pricked our fingers with a pin we found and put our blood on the page in order to sign it and verify the seriousness of the agreement.  Did the room stay clean?  No.  Rachel was just talking to me, and reminded me of the good ol' fashioned robot game!  One person would sit on their bed while the other one would pick up a few things in true robot fashion.  We had robot voices and we would walk like robots.  Needless to say, that was not a successful way to clean a room, but shoot.  It was funny.

I have friends.

Today was a good day.  I keep making progress on my mission, and I did some sewing and planning.  I also went to my cousin's wedding.  Then I got a Twizzlberry with Francisco, and Noodles and Company with Jarvis.  I really wanted to go see Snow White and the Huntsman.  So, I texted some friends.

And I waited.

And I waited.

No one replied.  I didn't know who to invite or who to talk to.  I started scrolling through my phone and I started saying out loud, I have friends.  I do.  I have friends.  Yet... I couldn't think of anyone to invite!!!

Luckily, Caitlin and Brandon were watching it so I just tagged along with them.  Married friends are friends too.

The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival takes place every year across the country.  Utah  is in Region VIII (8, for those who can't read capitalized letters), along with Arizona, parts of California, Hawaii, and I think Guam.  Maybe Nevada is in there too, but I am not confident in that one.  I went last year and it was pretty good.  I won the Regional award in Costume Design.  So cool.  Basically it meant I got 2nd place.

This year I was a little nervous.  I had patterned a costume and there was a new category called Allied Crafts so I could compete in it.  Here is a picture of me and my board.

Really, I had the lowest expectations in the world.  I mean, I was going up against my best friend Molly, and she was doing hair and makeup design.  Honestly.  They are so different.  No one at the competition knew how they compared, we said it was like comparing apples to:  oranges, limes, grapefruit, eggs, bacon, coconut, so on and so forth.  It was fun to just keep saying random foods though.  When I was posted as a finalist I was so excited!  I had the lowest expectations, but they really like my presentation and must have thought I showed good work.

During the awards ceremony they brought all of the finalists on stage.  I was practicing my, thanks for acknowledging me for being a finalist face, but they kept not saying my name.  When it got down to it, it was just Molly and I left.  I couldn't hear a word they were saying after that.  My heart was beating so fast and I was freaking out.  I ended up getting second place!  My certificate technically says Special Recognition, but that is so cool!  I mean, I went in expecting nothing, and I actually got good feedback and positive reinforcement for something that I did.  It felt so good.

I also did a paper project and I designed a kids' show Ice Wolf.  I also considered this a whatever design because it didn't seem to be very exciting.  It fulfilled the requirements of the show, which basically was just having everyone in fur, but I was using research from high fashion and I wasn't pushing the lines on anything really.  But, I got an Honorable Mention, which means I took second!

Can you guess what is wrong with this picture?  I will tell you.  My hair was colored today... and... it is darker than before!!  Umm...  My hairdresser kept saying it would fade, but I won't lie... it made for one bad day.

Oh my hair...

So, I am getting ready for a mission and this means returning to my natural hair color.  Some people actually have no idea what color that is... which surprised me.  So I decided to come up with my hair in pictures!  Way funny.  I probably spend too much money coloring my hair.  Oh well.  I love it.

I had just gotten this cute little A line cut and a couple of highlights.  I am hoping to get my hair back to this regular human color for me!

I am the middle one!  It is just a really dark brown.

Brown with blonde highlights.

I am pretty sure this is all highlights and lowlights.  I am pretty sure caramel was one of the colors.

This whole summer I was all natural and just regular ol' blonde.  I think my hair is a little bit darker than Rachel's, but nonetheless, we are the perfect pair of sisters!

Trying out being a redhead!  I loved it.  I was super fun.

Dark, dark, dark brown.  I loved it.  People told me that they loved this over my red hair, and when I asked them if they like me as a blonde, a brunette, or a red head, they always said brunette.  I will not lie.  That was a buzzkill.  In November my hair was colored brown, but it shined purple!

And here is where we are now.  Some good blonde highlights in brown hair.  I am going tomorrow to get it switched up to blonde, and so maybe I will post another picture?
